Harvest at Domaine Monternot

Each year, between late August and mid September, the harvest area Monternot carries a traditional way. Here is no place for harvesting machines. Each harvester is carefully chosen.<The harvester shall harvest the fine grapes and discard the grape that is damaged. This is the first level of sorting that only the hand of man is able to do. The jarlo carries the hood on his back a row to another to gather the grapes harvested. He pours the contents of his basket in the bucket grapes attached to the tractor. There, a second sorting is done to reject any clusters that have been harvested by mistake. When the bucket is full, the tractor comes to the winery to pour his precious cargo. The grapes are then placed in vats. Then begins the alchemy that transforms the fruit into wine. The steps keep coming under the vigilance of Monternot brothers who constantly check the quality of the product during manufacture. The secret of the brothers Monternot which provides for many years the most prestigious awards in the biggest competitions begins to Blacé in Beaujolais.
